Where Healdsburg Eats When the Weekend Crowd Goes Home

November 5, 2026

A couple has eaten at the same downtown Healdsburg restaurant for years. When they tried to book their 30th anniversary dinner there, how did they end up with a 5:30 Sunday table in the parklet? That's the story the Healdsburg Tribune used to open its September column on where residents eat. They later got a table inside. The column's point still holds. Visitors fill the weekends, and the restaurants that want regulars from town court them on the other nights.

Healdsburg's deals for residents fall almost entirely between Sunday and Thursday, and they change often. Set the Healdsburg Chamber's September 2024 roundup beside the Tribune's September 2026 column and you see how many have moved, been renamed or disappeared in two years. The few that held on are each tied to one night at one long-running restaurant. Those are the ones to plan a week around. Call ahead for everything else.

Thursday at Dry Creek Kitchen has outlasted the list around it

In 2024, the Healdsburg Chamber's "Local Dining Deals" roundup listed Dry Creek Kitchen's Thursday Sonoma Neighbor Menu at $55 for three courses. In September 2026, the Tribune listed it again at the same $55. Chef Shane McAnelly runs the kitchen now. The column described a choice of canapés, a porcini or rockfish main depending on the season, and dessert. The Tribune says Charlie Palmer's restaurant at Hotel Healdsburg started the locals' Thursday "many years ago."

Dry Creek Kitchen's own site still lists the Thursday night Sonoma Neighbor menu next to its three-course nightly dinner and McAnelly's six-course tasting menu. Dinner runs Wednesday through Sunday. Monday and Tuesday are closed, so the Thursday menu sits right in the middle of the restaurant's week.

The same building has a second standing offer. Spirit Bar in the Hotel Healdsburg lobby has happy hour Sunday through Thursday, and DCK bar bites are served Wednesday through Sunday. A Thursday at Hotel Healdsburg can be one stop for a drink or two stops for dinner.

Wednesday survived a rebrand

Wednesday shows how a locals' night can outlast the restaurant that started it. The Tribune notes that Wednesday had become Arandas' happy hour night. Arandas has since closed and become Maréla, and the Tribune reported that Maréla kept Wednesdays as a patio party from 5 to 8 p.m. with live music.

The space at 27 North St. has been through several changes. The Press Democrat reported in May that the 16-room hotel opened in 2005 as Hotel Les Mars, became 27 North, and in April 2026 rebranded again as Liora Estate under owner Foley Entertainment Group. Maréla opened there on May 15, 2026. Through all of that, the Wednesday night stayed.

Maréla's site lists happy hour Wednesday through Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. and dinner every night. Its menu page shows a $65 three-course tasting menu. The Tribune described the $65 menu as a locals' prix fixe offered Wednesday through Sunday with a glass of sparkling wine.

Wednesday has more around it than any other night:

  • Spoonbar at h2hotel serves Fried Chicken + Fixins every Wednesday, with seasonal sides and a choice of starter. The Tribune priced it at $38 in September and called it a popular weekly choice.
  • Little Saint runs an all-day happy hour on Wednesdays as part of its posted weekly schedule.
  • Folia Bar & Kitchen at Appellation Healdsburg, 101 Dovetail Lane, was reported by the Tribune to have a Wednesday seasonal menu at $55 for three courses, open to "the Sonoma County local community and visiting guests." The menu Folia lists on Appellation's dining page is a three-course dinner at $85 per person, Wednesday through Sunday, from Chef Reed Palmer's kitchen. Ask for the Wednesday menu by name when you book.

The week, night by night

These are the standing offers each restaurant currently posts on its own pages, plus the two Tribune-reported menus that are worth asking about.

Saturday Goodnight's; Bistro Lagniappe; Roof 106 Local's Hour 4–6 p.m.; happy hour 4:30–6:30 p.m.; Reverse Happy Hour 9–10 p.m.

The Tribune reported Valette's Local's Menu at $58 for three courses, served from 5 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and changing every two weeks with what's in season. The Matheson's dinner menu dated Oct. 27 features a $100 Chef's Picks menu, so this is another one to ask about when you call.

Happy hours have moved since 2024

The happy-hour listings show the most change. Compared with the Chamber's 2024 roundup, nearly every one now runs on different hours, different days or under a different name.

Goodnight's listed happy hour in 2024 on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the upstairs bar. It now calls it Local's Hour and runs it Tuesday through Saturday, 4 to 6 p.m., still upstairs. Drinks from the bar are half price, including all wines by the glass, specialty cocktails and saloon spirits. The food menu includes a $22 grilled A5 wagyu blend burger and $20 grilled filet tips with cornbread. Goodnight's added Saturday, the one night of the week that tends to need the least help.

Bistro Lagniappe offered happy hour from 4:30 to 9 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays in 2024, plus an earlier window on Fridays and Saturdays. Its menu now lists only Friday and Saturday, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., with $8 house wine, $5 draft beer and food from $6 to $14.

Spoonbar listed weeknight happy hour from 5 to 6 p.m. in 2024. It now runs 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 4 to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

Harmon House Rooftop at 227 Healdsburg Ave. was known for $1 oysters on Monday and 2-for-1 tacos on Tuesday in the 2024 roundup. The Tribune mentioned the Tuesday tacos again this September. The Rooftop's own page lists daily hours of 3 to 8 p.m. and happy hour Tuesday through Friday, 3 to 5 p.m.

The Matheson has kept its happy hour the same: every day, 4 to 6 p.m., in both 2024 and now. The menu dated July 23 lists $9 cocktails, $9 wine, $5 beer and 30% off pours from the self-service wine wall. Upstairs, Roof 106 runs a Reverse Happy Hour after dinner, 9 to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. It's one of the few deals on a weekend night, and it starts after most visitors have finished eating.

Arandas, which offered happy hour Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. in 2024, is now Maréla.

Fitting the deals around the holiday calendar

The City's 2026 master calendar puts two downtown events on nights that matter here. The Healdsburg Turkey Trot runs on downtown streets on Thursday, Nov. 26. Merry Healdsburg fills the Plaza and surrounding streets on Friday, Dec. 4. On Dec. 4, the Raven Performing Arts Theater at 115 North Street has Mostly Kosher, and the Healdsburg Chorus performs Winter Illuminations on Dec. 12 and 13.

A December Friday near the Plaza will feel more like a weekend than an off-night, so the steadiest options are earlier in the week:

  1. Wednesday: fried chicken at Spoonbar, or Maréla's patio and happy hour.
  2. Thursday: the Sonoma Neighbor menu at Dry Creek Kitchen, the longest-running locals' night on the list.
  3. Tuesday morning: coffee at Little Saint, free with a pastry before 10 a.m.
  4. Any night from 4 to 6 p.m.: The Matheson's happy hour, the one deal unchanged since 2024.
